📚 📝 📌 Masternode problems? HOWTO uninstall and make a new fresh / clean installation (the classic "red panic button" when you do not have other solutions...) 🚨 🆘 🚨 🚧 🚧 🚧 👷 👷 👷

Masternode installation interrupted or failed? In short ... panic? 😰 😱 Or you cannot solve a problem with your masternode that does not work and does not want to start? ▶🏁 🚜 🛠🤔 👿

So you want to UNINSTALL 🔨 and try again? 😅👩‍💻 👨‍💻

⚠ Obviously, both the options shown here include the restart of the masternode from the wallet so you lose the turn of the rewards and you have to get back in the queue (this can also involve several days of waiting for the next reward is obvious!). ⚠

    • Option number 1 (reset / initialize / reinitialize / reinstall / rebuild the VPS 🔄 from provider control panel and reinstall masternode). This option is most recommended in case of a masternode reinstallation because it allows you to start over with a new and clean VPS (so without many temporary files that accumulate as a residue). In short, if you have no particular reasons for not doing so, choose this first option.
If your VPS / server provider allows it you can simply reinitialize ⏹ 🔄 ▶ the server (not all providers call this function the same way, in some cases you first need to switch off / power off the VPS from the provider website panel and only then can you reinstall it from scratch), that is reset your VPS / server to the original conditions as the provider has delivered it to you. ⚠ Be careful ⚠ because they are options to look 🔎 for in the various control panels 🖥 of the providers and you may lose the cost already paid for the VPS 💸 💸 💸 . In case of doubt, contact your provider's assistance before doing anything from the provider panel if you do not know how to reset / initialize / reinitialize/ rebuild / reinstall the VPS / server. In this case of course it also means that if you have anything else on the VPS you will lose everything, including your data. However, this guide assumes that on the VPS you only have a 3DCoin masternode 😎 that does not work ☹ and you want to reset and redo it from the beginning.
After reset of VPS reinstall the masternode from root again following the normal installation procedure as if it were a new masternode, of course you can always use the same private key (the one you had generated with the "masternode genkey" command in the pc wallet) and if you really do not know how "retrieve it" 😌 you find it in the file masternode.conf in your computer (the one you had "compiled" 📝 to start the old masternode from the pc wallet).
You will not even need to do the collateral transaction again, you can leave the masternode.conf as it is (ie leave the same txid if you have not moved the coins locked in the collateral). Once you have completed the new "clean / fresh" installation of the masternode and you have waited for the masternode to be in sync on the VPS (use the check commands below to make your checks) you can give the new START from the control wallet as usual... ▶ 🚀 🚀 🚀

    • Option number 2 (manual delete masternode installation directly from within the 🐧 Linux Ubuntu 🐧 system and reinstall masternode)
The alternative to the above reset from the provider panel is simply to manually uninstall the 3DCoin masternode and directly from within the 🐧 Linux Ubuntu 🐧 system so you can retry the installation without having to re-initialize or reset the server, to do so follow this guide step by step:
As usual, log in with Putty or Bitvise or with the SSH client you use.
Start with this string that contains a sequence of commands (single line):
      👉 pkill -9 -f 3dcoind
always press enter after you write or copy and paste the string of commands... 😉
Then delete the folders 3dcoin and .3dcoin but you have to find the path where they are and take you to the path, for example if you had done a standard installation on root you must first type:
      👉 cd /root
So once you are in /root folder delete the two 3dcoin related folders with command:
      👉 rm -rf .3dcoin && rm -rf 3dcoin
(please note that the "3dcoin" folder without a dot in front of it is just a residue of old installations and may not be present in your VPS, but if there is it is better to remove it, while the .3dcoin folder is the actual folder containing both the blockchain and the 3dcoin masternode configuration file and also contains the wallet.dat which on the VPS should not contain coin, in normal masternode installations, since the coins are in the computer wallet.dat and not on the VPS).
If instead of root you have installed the masternode on a different user (not recommended!) you will first have to give such a command to go in the specific path (put correct username in place of username)
      cd /home/username && ls -al
"ls -al" is a command that only serves to display files and folders so you can see if the 3dcoin related folders to be deleted are present in your "username" home directory.
Other things you might want to delete to free up space on the VPS are any zipped sources downloaded during the old installations (you might find them in the home root if you've done a standard installation). And you can remove them with the command rm -f.
For example rm -f 3dcoin-0.14.0.2 (it's just an example, you must write the exact name of the compressed file you want to delete).
Also you could delete the binaries (files) that are normally found in usr/local/bin path (all the files that have 3dcoin in the name and that are in that path) and to do this you will have to go to the path with the cd command cd /usr/local/bin and then use the rm -f command usually followed by the name of each file you want to delete (for example rm -f 3dcoind or rm -r 3dcoin-cli and so on... ) and also you could the Masternode folder that is in the same path. In reality it would not be necessary because the new masternode installation you will be doing will replace these files but if you really want to clean up everything before the new installation then you should delete them. If you are not particularly experienced with Linux commands, it would be better to avoid these operations, however in case you could use the following complete command to delete the above folder and all its contents: rm -rf /usr/local/bin/Masternode
After you have stopped the processes and deleted the various folders and files, delete the root or user "crontab" entries in which you installed, then log in with root or with that specific user.
      👉 crontab -e
If it asks you to choose editor, use "nano" (press the corresponding number in the keyboard).
Delete all the contents of the screen that will open (it's a text file) with the delete key (if you do not have other masternodes of other coins in the same VPS or other crontab entries inside for your own reasons). This guide obviously assumes that your VPS contains only the 3dcoin masternode. In this case the crontab can be totally canceled / emptied.
Then save the deleted file (hence now empty) with CTRL + X and with Y (yes for confirmation, even lowercase y is fine).
Once out of the crontab, then back to the main terminal give the following command:
      👉 service cron restart
(always press enter after commands, do not forget!)
Restart the VPS / server system with the command:
      👉 sudo reboot now
After reboot reinstall the masternode from root again following the normal installation procedure as if it were a new masternode, of course you can always use the same private key (the one you had generated with the "masternode genkey" command in the pc wallet) and if you really do not know how "retrieve it" 😌 you find it in the file masternode.conf in your computer (the one you had "compiled" 📝 to start the old masternode from the pc wallet).

Useful masternode and wallet sync check commands (use on the VPS after installation):
    👉 3dcoin-cli mnsync status
    👉 3dcoin-cli masternode debug
    👉 3dcoin-cli masternode status
    👉 3dcoin-cli getinfo
    👉 3dcoin-cli getblockcount
