️ Please note
Some questions and answers could be selected and partly reworked and listed in different order or grouped by topic for editorial reasons and in general for better readability and usability, in short, an editorial cut is given but without the intention of distorting the meaning and the content.
Some questions are transversal to the various main topics so they have been grouped under a topic that has been considered suitable but could also be read in reference to other topics.
For what concerns any upcoming / future partnerships, in some cases any anticipations discussed in the chat during the AMA that mentions possible names of other parties/entities (for example, other companies or exchanges) awaiting official announcements could be left out of the log as it is to be considered an informal discussion in chat and therefore could be deemed necessary to leave them to the informality of a chat. This is therefore established on a case by case basis for each AMA log.
The main purpose of this log is to provide users with all the technical topics discussed in order to have any answers to technical and operational issues at hand, so the rest of the topics not strictly related to technical / operational questions may not find space in this log at the discretion of the content editor.
However, the entire original AMA can be viewed in full, starting from the following message in the official Telegram group:
This AMA event has also been added to CoinMarketCal, Coindar and CoinsCalendar cryptocurrency calendars:
We are very happy because this AMA was not only a "trending" event as usual on CoinMarketCal for some days but also our most voted AMA with over 200 votes! Nice to see as always also some hearts / likes in our Coindar event, demonstration that our 3DCoiners love our events and appreciate the 3DC presence in various cryptocalendars!
As happened for the previous AMA, this time too during the previous days the users of the Telegram group had the chance to post their questions in advance, so a list of questions was prepared to be answered at the beginning of the AMA. Then of course further questions were asked live during the AMA.
We also collect questions for AMA on Bitcoin Talk forum and in the Telegram group of the numerous and active Italian community.
The list of questions collected before the AMA is available at this direct link in our Telegram group:
Brief overview of the topics of this AMA
This AMA took place at a fairly quiet time for the network after the considerable efforts of the previous weeks, the network has resumed its normal functioning and most of the 3DCoin masternodes (we are approaching the 8000 enabled masternodes threshold again, currently around 7800) have been updated, synchronized and enabled ready to overcome the scheduled fork at the 850k block height (expected in just over 3 weeks).
The questions concerned general technical aspects of the project, from the expected feature of the "smart scripts" to the network performance (in TPS) but also questions related to the "managed hosting of masternodes" and to the potential developments of the Districts virtual reality platform.
It was considered necessary for this log not to group questions and answers by topic but to report them exactly in the original order because, given their variety, it does not require an editorial intervention.
AMA's Questions and answers
Rental period of my VPS will expire after 850K block. Will my old-1000collateral nodes work if i will migrate to other VPS provider?
i understand that there is no and there should not be a binding to IP address. All new 1K-collateral nodes will not work after 850K block, but if "new" 1K-collateral node with old privkey&txid will work after 850K - this will be good.
The collateral for 1k or 25k will be replaced by the last payment in the last 50k blocks, if you change the IP/provider, you have do is restart the masternode so the network gets notified and update your status.
What language will "smartscripts" use in 3DC? What correlation is there between these two technologies: Bitcoin Miniscript and 3DC Smartscript? You can briefly explain the differences between these two things even for non-developers?
The Bitcoin transaction script (like "Forth"), is a stack-based programming language.
SmartScript is functioning the same way with additional features such as:
Auto stack management, multifunction OPCodes, and Transaction state like in Ethereum smart contracts.
At the moment, how many TPS supports the 3DC network?
Pre 850k fork = 66, after 850k the transactions will be confirmed instantly, we estimate more than 2k per sec.
Can you tell us (even in general without specifying the names) if there are companies or teams of developers or individual developers outside your team with whom you have contacts and who intend to develop 3D / VR / AR dapps on the Districts platform? Can you give us some anticipation without revealing any commercial agreements?
We have a few interested clients who will use Districts dapps in their business like a well known real estate company based in Dubai, booking dapp, dex (built by us) and online education services.
We expect more when the Districts platform is available for the public
With future updates through wallet desktop or mobile wallet will you provide the possibility of hosting for those who want to participate in the network with masternode and other nodes?
Our team will not compete with third-party hosting services and also aiming for maximum decentralization.
We are already developing solutions for users who like to manage their masternode directly from 3DC light wallet.
It will be possible have BTC pegged to 3DCoin blockchain and then use 3DCoin like second layer for make smart contract with BTC?
Yes, there is a possibility to do that using the OP_API script.
Cool, you think District will use this?
Yes, All the smart scripts are available for Districts platform.
Does the team plan to organize and conduct meetups for developers?
And also a live demo session about the platform and its capabilities to show to the community how the customers will utilize Districts?
We have plans to host meetings when most of the platform is ready to help the developers to create applications on 3DC network.
Can you tell me please, who do you think is the closest competitor of the project? And what are the advantages of Districts platform?
We see a lot of competition for 3DC and Districts VR, but as decentralized solution Districts is the first of true VR application platform capable of competing with such big companies.
Before 850K, we have another update? If yes, this means protocol change (restart node)?
Yes, but the restart doesn't mean you will lose your position on the list if the IP address is still the same.
Do not hesitate to participate in the next Friday's AMA, we are waiting for you!
