️ Please note
Some questions and answers could be selected and partly reworked and listed in different order or grouped by topic for editorial reasons and in general for better readability and usability, in short, an editorial cut is given but without the intention of distorting the meaning and the content.
Of course, discussions between users that are allowed during the AMA (if they are related to the topics covered) are normally not included in the log. Only the users' questions to the CEO/LeadDev and his direct answers are shown in the log.
Some questions are transversal to the various main topics so they have been grouped under a topic that has been considered suitable but could also be read in reference to other topics.
For what concerns any upcoming / future partnerships, in some cases any anticipations discussed in the chat during the AMA that mentions possible names of other parties/entities (for example, other companies or exchanges) awaiting official announcements could be left out of the log as it is to be considered an informal discussion in chat and therefore could be deemed necessary to leave them to the informality of a chat. This is therefore established on a case by case basis for each AMA log.
The main purpose of this log is to provide users with all the technical topics discussed in order to have any answers to technical and operational issues at hand, so the rest of the topics not strictly related to technical / operational questions may not find space in this log at the discretion of the content editor.
However, the entire original AMA can be viewed in full, starting from the following message in the official Telegram group:
This AMA event has also been added to CoinMarketCal and CoinsCalendar cryptocurrency calendars:
We are very happy because this AMA was not only a "trending" event as usual on CoinMarketCal for some days but also for the second consecutive time one of our most voted events with over 100 votes and always for the second consecutive time we got 100% confidence (great! only upvotes also this time!).
As happened for the previous AMA, this time too during the previous days the users of the Telegram group had the chance to post their questions in advance, so a list of questions was prepared to be answered at the beginning of the AMA. Then of course further questions were asked live during the AMA.
The AMA questions can also be collected before each AMA in other channels (for example in our topic on BitcoinTalk, in our official Discord, in the local Telegram group of the numerous and active Italian community and so on).
The list of questions collected before the AMA is available at this direct link in our Telegram group:
Brief overview of the topics of this AMA
Once again this AMA, like the last two of November, took place at a fairly quiet time for the network after the considerable efforts of first half of November, the masternodes network it's working normally and most of the 3DCoin masternodes (over 6280 enabled and working masternodes now) have been updated, synchronized and enabled ready to overcome the scheduled fork at the 850k block height (expected in a few days, in mid-December).
During this AMA we discussed as usual the highly anticipated new upcoming Primenodes that can be activated after the 850k block (in the ratio of 1:30 with the Masternodes as we know) that with the future Pulsenodes that will come as third layer after the Primenodes to complete the 3DCoin triple layered blockchain, all structural nodes with very specific functions especially in relation to the Project Districts Virtual Reality dapps platform (in short, if you had thought of the "tiered masternodes" you have badly thought, here we are dealing with structural nodes with specific different functions and with three blockchains in one, nothing to do with the "tiered masternodes" of other projects that only serve to guarantee different rewards for different collaterals). In particular, in this AMA it was anticipated that a specific Primenodes whitepaper will be released shortly on Github which will explain all their important functions and in this AMA the Lead Dev gave some interesting previews on the features of Primenodes that will function as a DNS and decentralized web servers for dapps. Several technical details have been previewed in this AMA about the upcoming awaited Primes! We also talked also about the imminent release of the ready mobile wallet but also about the long awaited DVS (Districts Visual Studio) and the basic features that PCs will have on which the Districts Virtual Reality dapps platform will run and finally the timing related to both the completion of the development and the marketing campaigns and listing on additional exchanges and forecasts that hope that the whole project will be completed by the end of 2020.
As already happened for the last published logs we prefer to keep the original order of the questions and answers, because it was considered not necessary to group questions and answers by topic but to report them exactly in the original order without an editorial intervention. This also allows those who could not participate in real time (but also to those who participated) to relive a reading experience more similar to the live AMA.
AMA's Questions and answers
An exchange will be announced after 850k block? Which direction of your work?
We focus on delivering adding new features to the product .eg Prime Node, Districts before adding to new exchanges.
So we're almost there for the new primenodes, I can't wait! Anything we can prepare in advance? Apart from some collateral of 25000 coins I suppose! But other things? What can we do to be ready after the 850k block to activate quickly the first primes? For example, can we already rent and preconfigure some vps with specific hardware requirements for primenodes such as a certain amount of cpu cores, ram, disk space?
The Prime node hardware upgrade will be optional if the number of hosted apps is high and require more RAM and CPU core, until then as the first setup we recommend the cheapest vps.
Are we on pace with Districts being available Q1 2020?
We are working to add more functionality to the Prime node right now because the most work is on the Prime node code, we estimate to complete the whole project by 2020 Q4. We prepared a paper that explains all the features of the Prime node, how it works and why it's a very important step in the project (on Github in a few days).
When will plots of land go on sale and when will be able to work with it?
Like we explained before, the land token of Districts is linked to the dapps, the creation fees will go directly to the primes nodes.
️ Note: The question and the answer refer to the "virtual lands" of the Project Districts world of Virtual Reality.
Do you plan to do a halving in 2020 or just 25% rewards cut?
Block reward decreases by 25% every year, no halving.
Do you plan to allow a beta testing program for visual studio?
Yes, asap, we work in separate teams, our goal is to complete the project next year. The DVS will be available soon for testing.
️ Note: The DVS is the Districts Visual Studio, the VR dapps studio software of Project Districts.
How about mobile wallet?
The Mobile wallet v1 is ready, we are working on a better version for each device. the v1 will be released with 3DC Core v15.
How about new exchanges?
We planned a marketing campaign/exchange listing along with the updates starting from the 850k fork.
Everything will go according to plan with the fork? When will the wallet be released? Blocktime is at 125%, anything up again?
Everything is fine, we work as fast as we can, there is no risk of fork chains or something like that.
What do we need for the DVS to test it? Its the gui which produces the input which are displayed in the district world then isnt it?
DVS is a complete tool, using a standard PC with 4GB Ram you easily create/test/deploy dapps.
️ Note: At this point during the AMA some extra details on the upcoming Primenodes are explained:
We have added many functionalities in the Prime Nodes that wasn't mentioned before on the whitepaper and I would like to take the opportunity to share some with you today. The prime node will function as DNS with a new protocol for dapps and web apps (websites). The prime will function as webserver with a custom Http routing, database and a simple script to program web apps in a few minutes. All the details will be available in the new Prime node paper on github. As a web server, the primes will be faster and more secure than the centralized web hosting solution available today.
This product will add more utility to 3DC and helps us in marketing in the next few months because is a simple solution for anyone who has a website beside the crypto community. The new features will be added each week, so we recommend to set up the auto-update script (Prime only) available with the release.
How can it be faster then a centralized web hosting solution. A VPS is a VPS isnt it?
The delay in the webserver today is caused by the third-party services and communication protocols between them, like apache, Nginx, nodeJS, PHP, MongoDB, etc.., we replaced all these services by all-in-one solution on the prime node that provides a better service in a fast way.
Do not hesitate to participate in the next Friday's AMA, we are waiting for you!
